Apply for a pub
You can either fill in an application form online, download an application form, or request one to be sent to you in the post.
If you do not have a specific pub in mind then you can send in a general application form and we can then keep you up-to- date with any new vacancies that may suit you.
Recruitment Process
Once we receive your application form (either online or via the post) it will be logged and you will be given a reference number. You will then be contacted by phone within two working days by either a member of our office team or one of our Area Managers. If we think you may be suitable the Area Manager will then make an appointment to meet you for a first interview.
If you do not have a specific pub of interest you will be kept informed of any future opportunities within Hall and Woodhouse that we think may suit you.
If your application for a specific pub is progressed you will be asked to complete a business plan which will detail what your plans are for the business as well as your forecast Profit and Loss and account and Cash Flow. We will provide you with available information to help you complete this, including drinks volumes supplied by us to the pub over the last 3 years, the rateable value and our explanation of how we have calculated the rent figure. We advise you to take independent professional advice when putting your business plan together.
Your business plan will be reviewed by the Area Manager, and he will then organise a final meeting for you with Matt Kearsey, Badger Pubs Director. If you are successful you will receive an offer letter from us which you will be asked to sign and return.
Your agreement will then be produced and your Area Manager will organise a pre-change meeting. This meeting will include ensuring an understanding of the agreement in detail, as well as the year one support package, training and our Hall and Woodhouse Code of Practice. At this meeting the change date and details will be confirmed.
On the day of change your Area Manager will be there to ensure everything goes smoothly. This process from application to change date takes three months on average.
